As a retired member of the Prince Albert Police Service and a veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces, Dean brings a new dimension to our executive committee. Dean enlisted in the Armed Forces in 1990 and attended the Canadian Armed Forces’ recruit school in Cornwallis, NS. In his postings after training, he qualified as a driver, machine gunner, TOW missile gunner, and as an Infantry Section Commander.
Dean was tasked with UNPROFOR, IFOR, SFOR, KFOR, EUFOR – Canadian Missions – Former Yugoslavia from 1992-1993. He then qualified in military parachuting and was posted to Edmonton with the 1CMBG Light Infantry Battalion, and later, 3 PPCLI. He was assigned as a paratrooper to an operational airborne “jump company” until the Fall of 1998. Dean was assigned to the North Saskatchewan Regiment until being honourably discharged in the Fall of 2003.
From 1998 until his recent retirement, Dean was employed as a police officer with the Prince Albert Police Service. He has a beautiful fiancée and is an incredible father to two sons and a daughter, and a friend to many!
